Since
the band is working on a new album, the website has been very quiet
during the last few months – excepted some recording pics posted on
Facebook or some news through Twitter – and we haven't had a chance
to post any messages on the website recently being busy with various
stuff like: sorting out the record deal, recording studios, album
tracklisting, artwork, new website, promo photo-shoot, preparing
next tour, thinking about new countries we did not visit so far,
stage, merch & setlist etc …
The band is currently working with co-producer & longtime friend Daniel Leffler on the new record and things are going really well. Tracking is (almost) finished and Dan just started the mixing phase yesterday. We are still waiting for a few more guests to come down but everything should be finished in time! We are all impatient to announce more things during the next few days, so stay tuned! |

| 08 March 10: Koritni to play Free Wheels Rock Festival next summer | ||||||
Being the main motorcycle event in Europe (more than 20 000 people attended in 2001) as well as being one of the biggest rock festivals in France, the Free Wheels will take place this year on the 6th, 7th and 8th of August in the ‘medieval’ city of Courpière, near Clermont-Ferrand in the center of France. After playing the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Bol d’Or and Show-Bike Aquitaine, it is a pleasure for us again and a great honor to perform in front of bikers especially considering their manic rock'n'roll tendencies. This will also mark the first Koritni show in the center of France since 2007, and let it be said we will surely be delivering the goods on Saturday the 7th of August with our new songs from Game Of Fools and a few surprises too. Now a word from Lex Koritni : "Hey there guys, I gotta say, when I heard about how we are doing another bike event I couldn't help but get that glint in my eye, because thinking about the smell of petrol and burning rubber, the look of a beer soaked leather clad crowd and the occasional glistening sweaty bare skinned female, hmmm... well... with those images anyone is gonna have a good time, and I guarantee that Koritni is planing on having a great time with the rest of you craaaazy animals. I also hear that this event hasn't been on for about 10 years, and I can only assume that's because the last festival was so wild and so crazy that it left everyone with a 'ten year hang over'. Bad Reputation Records has set a release date of March 16th, 2009 for Koritni's sophomore album entitled Game Of Fools, featuring 13 new tracks written by the band during the last two years. The album was co-produced by 'ARIA award winning' engineer Anton Hagop (Silverchair, Powderfinger), mixed by legendary Mike Fraser (AC/DC, Aerosmith) and our long time friend Daniel Leffler (Jimmy Barnes, Metallica), while the mastering was handled by Ryan Smith's expert hands (Iron Maiden, Mötley Crüe) at Sterling Sound, New York. We finished the fucker on Monday (the 17th of November) and praise Jebus (or maybe Slash, he’s deity worthy) we’re happy to be done with it! It’s HUGE! Just buy it you cheap bastards! It took 19 days of recording spread over a day more than 4 weeks. 3 guitar amps, 1 dead bass amp, 6 guitars, 2 basses, 2 snares, one vocal mic and a few bleeding eardrums later it’s going to bust into your home, blow your mind, drink your booze, kick your dog, blow up your video (ok DVD player) and probably sex your auntie’s on its way out. A famous Nashville session muso once said that recording is 95% waiting around and 5% terror. It’s kinda like that but there are a few stopovers in between. The unavoidable cabin fever produces some quotable quotes though, so rather than waffle on with a blow by blow description of boring details like who went to the toilet when, what they’re mood was, level of excremental success achieved and what manner of pant they had to pull down here’s a few choice Koritni studioisms that came about in the making of the yet-to-be-named Koritni sequel. KORITNI will release their new studio album, entitled LADY LUCK, early 2007 in Europe & Canada.
The band started writing new songs last June after their tour in France & Belgium (to support the $ Green Dollar Colour $ album release) which saw the band opening for the legendary Scorpions.
After 3 months of writing process, the songs were completed and rehearsed in September. Most of them were performed live during a special gig in Sydney to ensure the live impact of the songs and finalize the arrangements.
The recording of the backing tracks started in Sydney early October at Studios 301 for Drums and Bass with engineer Daniel Leffler (Metallica, Cold Chisel ...), then Vocals and Guitars were recorded at Pulse Studios.
Early November, the album was mixed in Vancouver at the Warehouse Studio by Mike Fraser (AC/DC, Metallica, Aerosmith, Motley Crue, Van Halen ...), assisted by Dean Maher (Slayer, Nickelback, AC/DC ...).
The mastering was done by George Marino (Metallica, Guns N Roses, Faith No More, Velvet Revolver, Iron Maiden, AC/DC ...) at Sterling Sound, New York.
The whole recording process only took one and a half month, as the band wanted to keep a lot of energy and spontaneity, and to avoid "over-producing" the album. Working with such renowned & experienced engineers allowed a quick recording as well as a powerful and clear sound.
The band is extremely proud of the new material, and the few people who have listened to it comforted this feeling. They are now looking forward to facing their audience reaction to the album.

The band with Klaus Meine and Peter Amend (Scorpions manager).
The Green Buck Tour ended on a highlight on friday 19th in Amneville (Metz) with an amazing gig in support of the SCORPIONS, attended by around 6000 people.
They let us use their whole PA and light system, with our "Motorhead moment" when we made the venue sound-limiter saturated !!
Thanks again to the Scorpions, their manager Peter Amend, Joelle, Michel, David and everybody at Music For Ever for giving us the honor to play in such amazing conditions !
Perhaps we will have the honor to do more shows with them in the future, who knows ... :))
Now the band enters "writing mode" for the next 3 months. As a few tracks are already written (and 2 played during the tour), the recording sessions could start this fall.

They have just arrived in Paris, and are going to play their first gig outside Australia on Saturday, at the "Born To Be Rock" festival. Pics, videos and sound of this special event will be posted in the coming days.

Welcome to the brand new 'KORITNI official website'. It is under heavy construction and there are still some bugs to fix, but lots of cool features will be available really soon (Forum, Sound & Videos ...).
Lex (co-founder and former singer of $ Green Dollar Colour $ band), Eddy, Chris (who both joined GDC last summer after the album release), Luke and Matt are currently rehearsing intensively for the upcoming French/Belgium tour in April/May, and have already done some "warm-up' shows in Australia.
So be ready for full length shows, with of course all $ Green Dollar Colour $ album tracks, some nice covers (we are currently negotiating with venues to bring the Harley Davidson on stage for the Judas Priest song ... just kidding of course ha !), and exclusive new tracks from KORITNI debut album (shhhhhhhhhhhhh !!!)
After this tour, the plans are to take some holidays (since doing 7 dates is really exhausting for the band ha ha!), then finish writing next album this summer and record it in the fall. Release is, tentatively scheduled for early 2007 (and we are working for a worldwide distribution, with of course Australia included !)
We apologize for people in other European countries or outside Europe, but be sure we are working hard to be able to tour all over Europe, the UK, Aussie (and why not in the US/Canada) next year (or hopefully before) to support next album release.
To conclude, thanks everybody: label, publishers, lawyers, venues, promoters and of course mostly fans for your great support which made this tour possible, and see you really soon on tour !
